We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Prayer is going into “the secret place of the Most High,” and abiding under the shadow of the Almighty (Ps. 91:1). Prayer is a making known to God our wants and desires, and holding out the hand of faith to take His gifts. Prayer is the result of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. It is communion with God.

All biblical counseling that is faithful to the Scriptures will recognize the vital role played by the church in the life of a Christian counselee (see Rom. 12; 1 Cor. 12-14; Eph. 4:1-16; 1 Thes. 4:9-10; 5:12-15; Heb. 3:12-14). People entangled in severe sins tend to isolate themselves for a variety of reasons. They are in love with their sin, ashamed of their sin, too proud to let others know, too self-sufficient to let others in, lack a true desire to change, believe they can beat their problems on their own, or don’t want to inconvenience their friends with their long-term problems that defy simple solutions.

INGREDIENTS

8 c Finely chopped blanched almonds
3 c Sugar
6 Egg whites
4 tb Almond extract

INSTRUCTIONS

(*) To blanch almonds, dip almonds into boiling water for 1 minute. Remove
the brown skin covering. Dry in a 200°F oven for 30-45 minutes, stirring
occasionally. Use a food processor to chop them to the finest size
possible. (A 2-pound bag of almonds is what you'll need for this recipe).
Preheat oven to 300°F. Combine all of the ingredients thoroughly. Form into
desired shapes and sizes (we usually form them into crescents) and bake on
greased and floured cookie sheets. Bake for 20-30 minutes depending on
thickness of cookie. (In my oven, it takes about 24 minutes).
NOTES : This recipe is a double recipe. These are one of my favorite
cookies--I just LOVE almonds!

A Message from our Provider:

“We ought to give thanks for all fortune: if it is good, because it is good, if bad, because it works in us patience, humility and the contempt of this world and the hope of our eternal country. #C.S. Lewis”
