We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

It is no answer to tell me that you disapprove of a religion of feelings. If you mean by that that you dislike a religion consisting of nothing but feelings, I agree with you entirely. But if you mean to shut out feelings altogether, you can know little of Christianity. The Bible teaches us plainly that a man may have good feelings without any true religion. But it teaches us no less plainly that there can be no true religion without some feeling towards Christ.
J.C. Ryle

Many mistakenly think of God as if He were an insecure bully who likes to flex His heavenly muscles by putting down those who are weaker than He is. But God loves to show off His greatness and glory by being an inexhaustible source of strength to build up weak people like you and me. We honor God not by pretending to give Him what we arrogantly think He needs, but by praying for and posturing ourselves to receive all that He is and has obtained for us in Jesus.

1 c Butter; room temperature
1 c Almond paste
1/4 ts Salt
1 2/3 c Unbleached all-purpose flour
1 c Powdered sugar
Ground cinnamon; to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Cream the butter thoroughly in a large bowl, then add the almond paste and
incorporate well. Stir the salt into the flour and add gradually to the
butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
Chill the dough until firm, at least 3 hours or overnight.
Preheat the oven to 325°. Cut of thin slices of the dough, and, using your
hands, roll out on a floured surface into rolls about the size and
thickness of a pencil.
Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 15 minutes. Let cool slightly before
removing from the baking sheet, then remove while still warm and carefully
roll in the mixture of powdered sugar and cinnamon. (These cookies break
easily, especially if removed from the pan too soon.) Cool on a wire rack
and store in an airtight tin.
