We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

[God] provided the revelation of truth because the Holy Spirit was behind the revelation, the truth which the believer could believe. Then the Holy Spirit convicted of sin. Then the Holy Spirit transformed the person and energized that person to be obedient to God, to love Him, to hate sin... Old Testament saints experience the presence of the Holy Spirit or they never would have been Old Testament saints but there is a fullness and a richness and a degree and a depth to which the new covenant believer experiences the Holy Spirit unknown to them. And it is a fullness, it is a gushing river from inside. And that's why...we're more like the transfigured Christ than we are the shining Moses.... What is the difference then between the Spirit's work in a New Testament Christian and an Old Testament Christian? The only answer I know is the degree is different, the extent is different, the manifestation, the fullness is different.

Scripture shows some ways in which God uses evil to further His purposes: to display divine grace and justice (Rom. 3:26; 5:8, 20-21; 9:17); to judge evil in the present and future (Matt. 23:35; John 5:14); to redeem through Christ's sufferings (1 Pet. 3:18); to expand gospel witness through the suffering of Christ's people (Col. 1:24); to shock unbelievers, get their attention, and call for a change of heart (Zech. 13:7-9; Luke 13:1-5; John 9); to discipline believers (Heb. 12:3-17); and to vindicate God (Rom. 3:26).

1/4 c Warm water
2 1/2 c Flour
1/2 ts Baking soad
1 ts Baking powder
1 ts Salt
1/8 c Sugar
1/2 c Shortening
1 c Buttermilk

INSTRUCTIONS

I have been gifted Granny Byrds recipe file so I am posting one of my
favorites. This was on a very old yellowed newspaper clipping and appears
to have come from a Heloise column.
Angel Bisquits the name and delious eatings the game. They are so simple to
make, yet the most irrestible morsels to pass your palate. You can mix
these bisquits up one day and bake them the next. Why the dough will even
keep up to three days in the refrigerator in a covered bowl.
Dissolve the yeast in warm water, setting aside.Mix the dry ingrediants in
the order given. Cut the shortening in as you would usually do for pie
dough or bisquits. Stir in the buttermilk and yeast mixture. Blend
thoroughly and the dough is ready to refrigerate or roll into bisquits.
When you are ready to make bisquits turn the dough out onto a floured board
and knead lightly as for regular bisquits. Roll out and cut as you would
for regular bisquits, placing in a greased pan. Set aside and let the dough
rise slightly before baking in a 400 degrees oven for 12 or 15 minutes
untuil lightly browned and done. If the dough is cold you will need to let
it sit a little longer to rise.
I can remember my grandmother going to my great-grandmothers and making a
bowl to put in her refrigerator when Big Moma got too weak to stand and
cook alot. Big Moma would pinch off a little for her meal and cook what she
wanted.
