We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Remorse for sin does have a place in the Christian life, but we should be very sure what function it serves. Guilt should drive us to the cross, but grace must lead us from it. Guilt makes us seek Christ, but gratitude should make us serve Him. Guilt should lead to confession, but without a response of love as the motive of renewed obedience, true repentance never matures.

INGREDIENTS

Cubes of different cheeses
Pickles; fruit, and olives
Chunks of smoked sausage
Rolled salami
Pickled herring
Sardines
Raw; marinated, or pickled veggies

INSTRUCTIONS

Cut the above ingredients into bite-sized chunks and put them on toothpicks
or bamboo skewers. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
To Serve: Stick skewered savories into a large, round, domed loaf of bread
(a purple cabbage works well also). Arrange greens under the loaf on a
large, wooden board or platter.
This becomes a conversation piece and a way for guests to try new taste
combinations. Make sure all items are well drained before spearing them
into the bread. Leave a small dish for discarded toothpicks.
NOTES : I made this for the MUUF Pledge Dinner.
