We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Patience does not ignore the provocations of others; it simply seeks to respond to them in a godly manner. It enables us to control our tempers when we are provoked and to seek to deal with the person and his provocation in a way that tends to heal relationships rather than aggravate problems. It seeks the ultimate good of the other individual, rather than the immediate satisfaction of our own aroused emotions.
Jerry Bridges

What a mystery of mercy is this! We have no righteousness of our own. Our best is but as filthy rags. God requires a righteousness, and one that will meet all the demands of His law, and satisfy His impartial justice, in order to our justification. Jesus, therefore, came to do, and to suffer, all that was necessary to make us righteous, divinely righteous. The righteousness of God, or as righteous as He is righteous. The righteous of God in Him. We now, therefore become righteous, perfectly righteous, not by obeying the law, but by faith in Christ, union to Christ, and participation with Christ. Faith brings us to Christ, the Holy Spirit unites us to Christ, and then we participate in all Christ has. His life is our righteousness, His death is our atonement, His intercession is our salvation. He took our place that we might take His. He came to toil for us that we may rest with Him. He sorrowed for us that we may rejoice with Him. He died for us that we may live with Him. Blessed Redeemer, how wondrous your love! How perfect your work!

We are talking about favorite recipes... so I decided to post one of our
favorites. This algo goes for someone (I don't remember who) who asked for
a r-e-a-l-l-y crunchy topping for a fruit pie posted some days ago. This
came from my favorite cookbook "Cafe Beaujolais", by Margaret Fox and John
Bear, Ten Speed Press. BTW, wouldn't you be interested in sharing the names
of your favorite cookbooks?
Mix together apples, lemon juice, lemon rind, and water (or the other
liquid you chose). Place in a buttered 9-inch round cake pan. Using an
eletric mixer at slow speed, blend sugar, butter, flour, oats, cinnamon,
ginger and nutmeg, until crumbly. Scatter evenly on top of apples. Bake at
350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve warm. Optional toppings: vanilla ice-cream,
whipped cream or Vanilla custard sauce.

A Message from our Provider:

“We can do nothing, we say sometimes, we can only pray. That, we feel, is a terribly precarious second-best. So long as we can fuss and work and rush about, so long as we can lend a hand, we have some hope; but if we have to fall back upon God — ah, then things must be critical indeed! #A.J. Gossip”
