God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
The nature of true worship is worship that does two things: it expresses the feeling of God's value and greatness; and it seeks to sustain in the congregation that same spiritual sense of God's immense worth and beauty. Or to put it another way, true worship: comes from a heart where God is treasured above all human property and praise, and it aims to inspire the same God-centered passion in the hearts of the congregation.
God speaks in the Scriptures, and by it teaches the Church herself; and therefore His authority in the Scriptures is greater, the authority of Him that teaches, than of those by whom He teaches as the authority of a king in his law is greater than that of an officer that proclaims them.
Peel, core, and thinly slice apples. Toss with lemon juice and zest. Mix
sugar, flour, and spices. Toss with apples to coat.
Roll half of dough into a round and fit into a 9" pie pan. Fill shell with
apple mixture. Dot top with butter. Roll remaining dough into a round large
enough to cover top of apples. Place carefully over apple filling and crimp
edges of crusts together. Make slits in top crust to vent. Mix teaspoon of
sugar with dash of cinnamon. Brush top of crust with milk and sprinkle
lightly with cinnamon sugar.
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 degrees and bake an
additional 20-30 minutes.
