We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

So is God selfish and vain [to pursue His own glory]? No, for while it would be sinful for sinners (like us) to promote our own glory, it would be wrong if God acted for any purpose less than His own glory. Giving preeminence to any purpose other than Himself – since all things are less than God – would make God an idolater. God can give us nothing greater than Himself in all His glory, so it's to our advantage for God to glorify Himself above all.
Donald S. Whitney

That is God’s plan and purpose – to use Satan’s temptations as a means of testing and strengthening our faith in Him and of our growing stronger in righteousness. God allows testings in our lives in order that our spiritual “muscles” may be exercised and strengthened. Whether the testing is by God’s initiative or is sent by Satan, God will always use it to produce good in us when we meet the test in His power.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Vegetables Vegetables 2 Servings

INGREDIENTS

3/4 lb Asparagus (medium to large)
2 tb Unsalted butter
1/2 ts Salt
Freshly ground pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

CUT OFF THE TOUGH BOTTOM END of the asparagus and discard. Peel the stalks
with a vegetable peeler. Place asparagus in a skillet or saucepan just
large enough to hold them lying down and barely cover with cold water. Add
butter and salt and bring to a boil, uncovered, over high heat. Stir the
asparagus so it will cook evenly. The asparagus is done when the water has
evaporated, leaving only the concentrated, buttery juice of the asparagus.
Grind fresh pepper to taste over the asparagus and arrange on a vegetable
platter.
