The [Christian] message is that there is hope for a ruined humanity – hope of pardon, hope of peace with God, hope of glory – because at the Father’s will Jesus became poor, and was born in a stable so that thirty years later He might hang on a cross.
So what are the issues government should be concerned about? There are many, but personally speaking, none are greater than the need to protect the lives of the unborn. Though I know of Christians that disagree with me on this, but if a man or woman supports abortion, I believe he or she, in my opinion, is immediately disqualified from office. I compare it to a dynamic leader that could be our greatest President in history but wanted to reinstitute the institution of slavery. Immediate disqualification.
Cook asparagus in large pot of boiling salted water until crisp-tender,
about 4 minutes. Drain; rinse with cold water and drain again. Pat dry.
(Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)
Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium-high heat. Add asparagus to pot.
Stir until heated through and coated with oil, about 5 minutes. Drizzle
with lemon juice. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Arrange asparagus
on platter.
