In marriage a man and woman are so closely joined that they become “one flesh,” which involves spiritual as well as physical oneness. In marriage God brings a husband and wife together in a unique physical and spiritual bond that reaches to the very depths of their souls. As God designed it, marriage is to be the welding of two people together into one unit, the blending of two minds, two wills, two sets of emotions, two spirits. It is a bond the Lord intends to be indissoluble as long as both partners are alive. The Lord created sex and procreation to be the fullest expression of that oneness, and the intimacies of marriage are not to be shared with any other human being.
We are sometimes tempted to think that we get no good by our prayers, and that we may as well give them up altogether. Let us resist the temptation. It comes from the devil. Let us believe, and pray on. Against our besetting sins, against the spirit of the world, against the wiles of the devil, let us pray on, and not faint. For strength to do duty, for grace to bear our trials, for comfort in every trouble, let us continue in prayer. Let us be sure that no time is so well-spent in every day, as that which we spend upon our knees. Jesus hears us, and in His own good time will give an answer... He may sometimes keep us long waiting...but He will never send us empty away.
Hi everyone. A week or so ago there was a request for Derby Pie and I
mentioned that Derby Pie isn't authentic unless there's bourbon (Kentucky
bourbon, of course) in the recipe. So here's a TNT, authentic Kentucky
Derby Pie recipe.....
Cream butter. Add sugar gradually while beating. Add beaten eggs, corn
syrup, salt and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips, nuts and bourbon until
well mixed. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Be
careful not to overbake.
