God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
Scripture speaks about God working everything together “for the good” of those who love him (Rom. 8:28). But what is this “good?” It consists of believers being conformed (changed and remade) to the image of Christ (Rom. 8:29). Thus, all the experiences of life are intended, under the sovereign hand of God, to help us to grow towards the great goal of the Christian life – Christ-likeness.
If by doing some work which the undiscerning consider “not spiritual work” I can best help others, and I inwardly rebel, thinking it is the spiritual for which I crave, when in truth it is the interesting and the exciting, then I know nothing of Calvary love.

Line a 6 cup rectangular glass loaf pan or ceramic dish with 3 layers of
waxed paper, extending over long sides only. Brush top sheet of paper
generously with oil. Puree avocados and cream cheese in processor. Add
shallots, lemon juice, garlic, chili powder and salt and blend 30 seconds.
Transfer mixture to prepared pan; smooth top. Press plastic wrap onto
surface of pate and refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.
Remove plastic and unmold onto a platter lined with the lettuce leaves. Mix
parsley and pecans and sprinkle over the pate. Garnish with olives and
tomatoes. Surround with tortilla chips. From Poppa Rock's Family Cookbook
