God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
Whose fault is it, I should like to know, if a believer does not grow in grace? The fault, I am sure, cannot be laid on God. He delights to “give more grace” (Jas 4:6) The fault, no doubt, is our own. We ourselves are to blame, and none else, if we do not grow.

8

ts
Mixed spice
A beaten egg

INSTRUCTIONS
Pronounced "Barra Clathee".
Preheat the oven to 160 Centigrade (moderate oven). Mix all the dry
ingredients and then add the beaten egg. Add a little milk and mix well to
get the consistency right (damp but not wet, similar to a cake mix). Put
the mix into a greased loaf tin and bake for about an hour. The result is
like any good fruit cake - moist inside, but not wet.
Cool and slice to serve, well buttered.
