We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

One way to begin to see how vastly indulgent we usually are is to fast. It is a long day that is not broken by the usual three meals. One finds out what an astonishing amount of time is spent in the planning, purchasing, preparing, eating, and cleaning up of meals.
Elisabeth Elliot

For worship is, essentially, the reverse of sin. Sin began (and begins) when we succumb to the temptation, “You shall be as gods.” We make ourselves the center of the universe and dethrone God. By contrast, worship is giving God his true worth; it is acknowledging Him to be the Lord of all things, and the Lord of everything in our lives. He is, indeed, the Most High God!

Jerusalem artichokes
Lightly salted water
Fresh lemon juice
Salt and pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Jerusalem artichoke, also known as sunchoke, is a
seasonal vegetable that looks a bit like fresh ginger,
and tastes like a cross between potatoes and
artichokes. We enjoy it very much in Israel. To
prepare jerusalem artichokes as a side dish, peel and
cook in boiling lightly-salted water for 1/2 to 1
hour, covered, until soft. Add salt and pepper to
taste, and sprinkle with lemon juice.
