Courtship=It is engaged in for exploring a relationship for marriage. Dating=It is engaged in for the purpose of personal gratification. Courtship=It is a means to an end. It is engaged in only when ready to marry. Dating=It is an end in itself. It is engaged in years before ready to marry, or as a substitute for marriage. Courtship= It requires parental involvement (except with remarriage). Dating=It generally discourages parental involvement. Courtship=It limits the number of premarital relationships developed. Dating=It provides extensive opportunities to develop multiple relationships. Courtship= It considers all physical contact a privilege of those who have bound themselves for life with marriage vows. Dating=It promotes various levels of physical contact, from holding hands to fornication. Courtship=It rarely leaves couples alone or unchaperoned. Dating=It provides extensive time for unmarried couples to be alone.

Here are just a few of the tasks [the deacons] can handle for the church: 1. Collect, account for and distribute the offerings. 2. Maintain the physical properties of the church – buildings, grounds, vehicles, etc. 3. Care for the widows, orphans and other needy members of the body. 4. Pay the church bills. 5. Supervise the benevolence program of the church. 6. Determine the salaries and benefit programs for the church staff. 7. Purchase and supervise the church’s insurance policies. 8. Create and maintain church budgets. 9. Provide care for those members who have physical and financial needs. 10. Supervise building programs. 11. Usher and otherwise assist at the services. 12. Assist the elders in the distribution of the Lord’s Supper. 13. Provide transportation for those members who are not mobile.

Beer Catfish

Seafood, Vegetables 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 c Self-Rising Flour
1 c Beer; (your favorite brand
Garlic Powder; to taste
Salt And Pepper; to taste
4 3 Oz Catfish Fillets; cut into 3" strips
(3 to 5)
Vegetable Oil; for frying

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine 1 cup flour, beer, garlic salt, salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix
well.  Dip catfish strips in remaining flour and then in batter. Fry in hot
oil in a deep-fryer or skillet until golden brown. Drain on absorbent
towels.  Serve hot.
Serve with your favorite sauce.
Yield:  4 servings.
