We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Brothers and sisters, I really feel that I’ve heard from God about the future of our church. While I was away, I was calling out to God to help us – to help me – understand what He wants most from us. And I believe I’ve heard an answer. It’s not fancy or profound or spectacular. But I want to say to you with all the seriousness I can muster: From this day on, the prayer meeting will be the barometer of our church. What happens Tuesday night will be the gauge by which we will judge success or failure because that will be the measure by which God blesses us… No matter what I preach or what we claim to believe in our heads, the future will depend upon our times of prayer

The more excellent something is the more likely it will be imitated. There are many false diamonds and rubies, but who goes about making counterfeit pebbles? However, the more excellent things are the more difficult it is to imitate them in their essential character and intrinsic virtues. Yet the more variable the imitations be, the more skill and subtlety will be used in making them an exact imitation. So it is with Christian virtues and graces. The devil and men's own deceitful hearts tend to imitate those things that have the highest value. So no graces are more counterfeited than love and humility. For these are the virtues where the beauty of a true Christian is seen most clearly.

_Martha Stewart's Menus for Entertaining_ has a recipe for Duck-Filled
Beggar's Purses. Don't see why you couldn't substitute your filling of
choice. I'm not sure what to substitute for the chive tie, I'm sure
someone would have a good suggestion. Here are the assembly instructions,
excluding the duck filling. I don't know how big the ones in the movie
were, but she mentions these being bite sized. Hope it works for you!
"To assemble, spread 1 sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface keeping the
rest of the dough covered with a damp dish towel. Brush the entire surface
with butter, then top with another sheet of phyllo. Repeat twice for a
total of 4 sheeps of phylo dough one on top of another brushing butter
between each layer. Using a sharp knife cut the layered dough into 6
squares. Place a heaping tablespoon of filling in the center of each
phyllo square. Pull the corners up to the center and gather the dough
pinching it closed over the filling. Tie each bundle securely with a single
chive. Using sharp scissors, snip the dough off one inch above the chive
ribbon so that the tops are even. The purses can be frozed on
parchment-lined sheets, well wrapped, at this point. To serve, preheat the
oven to 350 F. Place the purses on baking sheeps and bake for 10-15
minutes until golden brown."
