Are we in the habit of coming to the Lord’s table? If so, in what frame of mind do we come? Do we draw near intelligently, humbly, and with faith? Do we understand what we are doing? Do we really feel our sinfulness and need of Christ? Do we really desire to live a Christian life, as well as profess the Christian faith? Happy is that soul who can give a satisfactory answer to these questions. Let him go forward, and persevere.
Free-will tears the reins of government out of the hands of God, and robs Him of His power. It places the creatures beyond His absolute control and in some respects gives them veto power over His eternal will and purpose. It even makes it possible that angels and saints in heaven might sin, that there might again be a general rebellion in heaven such as is supposed to have occurred when Satan and the fallen angels were cast out, and that evil might become dominant or universal.
Combine sugar, water, syrup & vinegar. Cook to soft ball stage. Beat egg
whites until stiff. Beat in cream of tartar & salt. Add half of hot mixture
to egg whites. To other half, add marshmallows & allow to dissolve. Combine
mixtures & beat until spreading consistency. (This also makes a very good
candy if cooked to hard ball stage.)
