Be ashamed to use the vulgar arts of a recruiting sergeant. Do not speak only of the uniform, the pay, and the glory; speak also of the enemies, the battle, the armor, the watching, the marching, and the drill. Do not present only one side of Christianity. Do not keep back “the cross” of self-denial that must be carried, when you speak of the cross on which Christ died for our redemption. Explain fully what Christianity entails. Entreat men to repent and come to Christ; but bid them at the same time to “count the cost.”
How did Jesus expect His disciples to react under persecution? (In Matthew 5:12 He said), “Rejoice and be glad!” We are not to retaliate like an unbeliever, nor sulk like a child, nor lick our wound in self-pity like a dog, nor just grin a bear it like a Stoic, still less pretend we enjoy it like a masochist. What then? We are to rejoice as a Christian should and even “leap for joy” (Lk. 6:23).

Brown ground beef, onion and green pepper. Drain. Stir in tomato sauce,
garlic salt and chili powder and simmer. Combine pizza cheese, sour cream
and egg and mix well. Remove meat from heat and stir in sour cream mixture.
Separate biscuits into halves. Put 10 halves into bottom of a 9 x 9" pan.
Spoon meat sauce over biscuits. Arrange other biscuits on top of meat and
cover with slices of American cheese. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes until

mozzarella. I also used light sour cream. NOTE: Made this 11/12/97. Very
