If worshipers leave a service with no thought of becoming more godly in their lives, then the purpose of worship has not been achieved. If they walk away from an assembly without a conviction that they need to conform their lives to Holy Scripture, even if it means changing their lifestyle, then worship has been perverted somewhere.. The clear teaching of Scripture is that genuine worship is life changing.
A satisfactory religion must satisfy. But satisfy what and why? The Greek mysteries satisfied the emotions; brute force can satisfy the will; but Christianity satisfies the intellect because it is true, and truth is the only everlasting satisfaction (Gordon Haddon Clark).
Cook sugar and water until it barely threads (235°) and let stand until
bubbles leave. Add 1 ts. salt and beat until cloudy. Add walnuts and rum
extract and beat until fairly stiff. Pour onto board, let set, and break
into pieces.
