“If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame” (Pr. 18:13). The fool responds without really hearing, with no careful thought or consideration. Speaking in haste is shameful. When we don’t listen, we disclose a low regard for the other’s words and a high regard for our own.
Ten steps to becoming a 'Pragmatic Church'
1. 'Easy-believism' gospel.
2. Place emphasis on some 'work' for salvation and not the need to recognize and approach a holy God.
3. Teach half-truths.
4. Teach that grace replaces (instead of produces) holiness.
5. Teach that love and truth are opposed and obedience is legalism or optional.
6. Use fleshly things to attract unbelievers for evangelism and teach them that carnal, worldly lifestyles are acceptable.
7. Avoid the Biblical teachings that create humility in man and exalt God.
8. Teach the means of grace are optional.
9. Be 'seeker-friendly' and avoid being 'offensive.'
10. Place being 'relatable' above 'biblical accuracy.'
Dry black-eyed peas cooked the savory way; (2 cups)

Jars marinated artichoke hearts; (4 oz. size)

Sliced raw radishes and/or carrots

Thinly sliced celery

Sliced green onions
INSTRUCTIONS
Put beans In bowl and drizzle artichoke marinade over them. Cut hearts to
bite size and add to beans with radishes, carrots, celery and onion. Add
your favorite French or Italian dressing to cover; pepper to taste. Chill
before serving, and spoon onto lettuce leaves. Savory cooking method: Drain
and rinse soaked black-eyed peas (4 to5 cups); add 6 cups hot water; 2
tablespoons shortening, 2 teaspoons onion salt and 1/2 teaspoon garlic
salt, 1 tablespoon chicken stock base, and 1/4 teaspoon white pepper.
Simmer gently until barely tender. Drain while hot; cool beans quickly,
uncovered. Yields: 8 servings.
