We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Now if you have a problem matching up that sovereignty of God with human responsibility, admit that you don't know everything and the problem is solved. Because I also know that the gospel extends to the end of the earth and Jesus was the one who said, 'Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I'll give you rest.' We understand the gospel invitation. We understand the call. We understand the tears of Jesus over those who wouldn't come. We understand the responsibility of the sinner who rejects the gospel and perishes and he is being punished for his own choice. We understand that. How that harmonizes with this doctrine, I do not understand. I may never understand it even in eternity because I will never be God. But I will let God be God and I will not redefine God on my terms… I also understand at the same time that God holds every sinner responsible for their own rejection and gives them the opportunity to receive Him. And it makes perfect sense to Him though it's apparently paradoxical to me. But I will not err on the severe side of diminishing the sovereignty of God by eliminating this glorious truth.
John MacArthur

An adventure awaits us in reading Christian books. Once we see the connection between the Word of God and the books we read, we will embark on a search and discovery mission in the expanding field of human knowledge, where all truth is God's truth and Jesus Christ is the center that holds all things together. A nonreading Christian is a contradiction in terms. With the Bible as our primary source, we read other books that serve as teaching tools for the Holy Spirit in order that we may become men and women of God, 'thoroughly equipped for every good work.'

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Eggs, Dairy Breads, Usenet 12 Muffins

INGREDIENTS

1 3/4 c Flour
6 tb Sugar
2 1/2 ts Baking powder
3/4 ts Salt
1 Egg, beaten
3/4 c Milk
1/3 c Cooking oil
3/4 c Blueberries
1 ts Lemon peel

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Stir together the flour, sugar, baking
powder and salt. Make a well in the center.
In a separate bowl, combine the egg, milk and oil. Add egg mixture, all at
once, to the flour mixture. Stir JUST until moistened. Yes, the batter
should be lumpy. (If you try to stir all the lumps out, your muffins will
be very tough.) CAREFULLY fold in blueberries and optional lemon peel.
Grease muffin cups, or line with paper bake cups; fill each 2/3 full. Bake
at 400 degrees F. for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from
pans; serve warm with butter.
  NOTES:
* Award-winning blueberry muffins -- these muffins won a blue ribbon
during the years that I was eligible for the Dade County (Miami, Florida)
Youth Fair. I think this particular recipe came originally from the "Better
Homes and Gardens Cookbook," but I could be wrong.
* The less you stir once you've combined the two mixtures, the better your
muffins will be. (To a point, but over-mixing is much more common than
under- mixing.) Frozen blueberries work fine, if you can't get hold of
fresh berries. I'm sure other kinds of fruit will work fine, too, but I
haven't tried them.
: Difficulty: moderate (proper mixing technique required).
: Time: 10 minutes preparation, 25 minutes baking.
: Precision: measure the ingredients.
