We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Be an uncommon Christian. Average Christian is 'half way up between the valley and the peak...halfway where we used to be and where we ought to be.' When we hear the call to take up the cross and follow toward the hills we begin to bargain with God like a huckster. What will it cost me in work? What will it cost me in money? What will it cost me in relationships? Is it safe? Is it convenient? Is it fun? Is it popular? - You'll never be more than the common Christian until you give up your own interests and cease to defend yourself and put yourself in the hands of God and let Him alone. We want to help God out. No, no give yourself to God. Turn yourself over to God and say, 'Father, I'm sick of being a common Christian. I'm sick of this mediocrity. I'm sick of being half-way up to where I want to be. I'm sick of seeing other happy Christians and I'm not. I'm weary, God, of the whole thing and I want to go on. I want to know You.'

[What about the books in the Apocrypha?] There are no marks in these books which would attest a divine origin…both Judith and Tobit contain historical, chronological and geographical errors. The books justify falsehood and deception and make salvation to depend upon works of merit… Ecclesiasticus and the Wisdom of Solomon inculcate a morality based upon expediency. Wisdom teaches the creation of the world out of pre-existent matter (Wisd. 11.17). Ecclesiasticus teaches that the giving of alms makes atonement for sin (Ecc. 3.30). In Baruch it is said that God hears the prayers of the dead (Bar. 3.4), and in I Maccabees there are historical and geographical errors.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Eggs, Meats, Grains Veggie, Low-cal, Meat sub 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

1 c Carrot shredded
3/4 c Rice brown cooked
1/2 c Mozzarella part skim
1/3 c Onion chopped
1/4 c Bread crumbs
1/3 c Dry roasted peanuts
1 tb Parsley fresh
1/4 ts Ginger, ground
1 ts Coriander, ground
2 lg Egg white
1 tb Soy Sauce low sodium
1/8 ts Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Carrots must be finely shredded and onion finely chopped. I use a food
processor. Shred the mozzarella and crumble bread crumbs well. Chop the
peanuts. In a large mixing bowl stir together the carrots, cooled cooked
rice, cheese, onions, peanuts, bread crumbs, parsley, ginger, coriander and
pepper. In a small bowl slightly beat the egg whites then blend in the soy
sauce. Add to the rice mixture and blend well. Cover and chill in
refrigerator for an hour or until firm enough to handle. Shape the mixture
into four 3/4 inch thick patties. Spray a baking sheet with oil. Place
patties on sheet. Broil four inches from the heat for seven minutes. Turn
and broil two minutes more until set. Serve as you would a hamburger. I
have done this in a skillet but you must be careful handling the patties or
they break up. Be sure to let the first side get well done before trying
to turn them. Helps to have frozen the patties for easy of handling before
cooking.
