We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Through no fault or choice of my own, I am unable to express my sexuality in the beauty and intimacy of Christian marriage, as God intended when He created me a sexual being in His own image. To seek to do this outside of marriage is, by the clear teaching of Scripture, to sin against God and against my own nature. As a committed Christian, then, I have no alternative but to live a life of voluntary celibacy. I must be chaste not only in body, but in mind and spirit as well. Since I am now in my 60’s I think that my experience of what this means is valid. I want to go on record as having proved that for those who are committed to do God’s will, His commands are his enablings... My whole being cries out continually for something I may not have. My whole life must be lived in the context of this never-ceasing tension. My professional life, my social life, my personal life, my Christian life - all are subject to its constant and powerful pull. As a Christian I have no choice but to obey God, cost what it may. I must trust Him to make it possible for me to honor Him in my singleness. That this is possible, a mighty cloud of witnesses will join me to attest. Multitudes of single Christians in every age and circumstance have proved God’s sufficiency in this matter. He has promised to meet our needs and He honors His word. If we seek fulfillment in Him, we shall find it. It may not be easy, but whoever said that Christian life was easy? The badge of Christ’s discipleship was a cross. Why must I live my life alone? I do not know. But Jesus Christ is Lord of my life. I believe in the sovereignty of God, and I accept my singleness from his hand. He could have ordered my life otherwise, but He has not chosen to do so. As his child, I must trust His love and wisdom.

Ten Reasons Why it is Wrong to Take the Life of Unborn Children: 1. God commanded, 'Thou shalt not murder' (Exodus 20:13). 2. The destruction of conceived human life – whether embryonic, fetal, or viable – is an assault on the unique person-forming work of God. 3. Aborting unborn humans falls under the repeated biblical ban against 'shedding innocent blood.' 4. The Bible frequently expresses the high priority God puts on the protection and provision and vindication of the weakest and most helpless and most victimized members of the community. 5. By judging difficult and even tragic human life as a worse evil than taking life, abortionists contradict the widespread biblical teaching that God loves to show His gracious power through suffering and not just by helping people avoid suffering. 6. It is a sin of presumption to justify abortion by taking comfort in the fact that all these little children will go to heaven or even be given full adult life in the resurrection. 7. The Bible commands us to rescue our neighbor who is being unjustly led away to death. 8. Aborting unborn children falls under Jesus' rebuke of those who spurned children as inconvenient and unworthy of the Savior's attention. 9. It is the right of God the Maker to give and to take human life. It is not our individual right to make this choice. 10. Finally, saving faith in Jesus Christ brings forgiveness of sins and cleansing of conscience and help through life and hope for eternity. Surrounded by such omnipotent love, every follower of Jesus is free from the greed and fear that might lure a person to forsake these truths in order to gain money or avoid reproach.

INGREDIENTS

1 Box vanilla wafers
3 tb Hershey's cocoa
3 tb Karo syrup
1/2 To 1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 c Booze (bourbon, rum, etc)
Powdered sugar as req'd.

INSTRUCTIONS

Pulverize the vanilla wafers (food processor with metal blade does a
fine job). Blend in the cocoa & nuts, then add the syrup & booze.
Adjust the amount of booze to reach a rather stiff consistency dough.
Make small balls, approx 1" in dia, & roll in powdered sugar & place
in a covered container, keeping all containers/bowls covered at all
times. (I use a clean 1 lb coffee can with its plastic lid to hold
the balls) After all the balls are rolled & placed in the sealed
containers, let the container set out over night, then place in the
refrigerator until you are ready to enjoy. Always keep the container
sealed. You don't want to lose any alcohol.
