God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
The greedy materialism of the prosperity gospel turns the biblical gospel on its head. The true gospel is an offer of salvation from sin and spiritual death. The prosperity gospel ignores those eternal realities and falsely promises deliverance from temporal problems like financial poverty and physical sickness. Jesus called His disciples to abandon all, take up their crosses, and follow Him (Luke 9:23). By contrast, the prosperity gospel offers carnal comforts, earthly riches, and worldly success to millions of desperate people who literally buy into it. Whereas the true gospel centers on the glory of God, the prosperity gospel puts man’s wants and desires front and center.
Am I in a calling in which I can abide with God? If you cannot ask God’s blessing upon your occupation, or if you would be ashamed to be found in it when the Lord Jesus returns, or if it hinders your spiritual progress, then you must give it up and be engaged in something else.
Steam broccoli until just tender, then chop. You should have about 2 1/4
cups. Melt butter in a large skillet. Add garlic, green onions and
broccoli; saute for three minutes. Stir in cream, salt and pepper and cook
at a gentle boil until sauce thickens slightly. Toss sauce with hot pasta
in a serving bowl. Add the cheese and toss to distribute evenly. Add
Parmesan cheese and toss again. Serve immediately, with extra grated cheese
and pepper on the side. Serves 4.
