But if the truth could be known, the explanation of such cases would generally be found to have been private departure from God. Men fall in private, long before they fall in public. INGREDIENTS

1/2	c	Shortening
2		(1-oz) squares chocolate or- cocoa and butter
1	c	Sugar
2		Eggs; beaten
1	ts	Vanilla
3/4	c	Flour
1/2	ts	Baking powder
1/2	ts	Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Melt shortening and chocolate over very low heat, stirring constantly.
Cool. Beat eggs until light; stir in sugar, then chocolate mixture and
vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients, mixing well. Add nuts. Bake in greased
9x12 pan at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. Makes about 2
dozen. These have consistency similar to cake.
