As Jesus says in Luke 22:26, “Let the leader become as one who serves.” The husband who plops himself down in front of the TV and orders his wife around like a slave has abandoned the way of Christ. Jesus bound Himself with a towel and washed the apostles’ feet. Woe to the husband who thinks his maleness requires of him a domineering, demanding attitude toward his wife. If you want to be a Christian husband, you become a servant, not a boss.
In this past century, Christians have all but ignored biblical teaching on the corporate nature of following Christ. Our churches anew awash in self-centered narcissism, hyper-individualism… Jesus never intended us to be Christians alone, and that our love for others who aren’t just like us is taken to be indicative of whether we truly love God.
1/2 cups chicken stock or reduced-sodium chicken broth (up to 1)

(1 stick) unsalted butter
Salt, freshly ground pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Cut unpeeled potatoes into quarters. Place potatoes in large pan & add
water to cover. heat to a boil; cook until tender, 20-25 minutes. Drain
thoroughly & return potatoes to pan. Smash potatoes with potato masher or
wooden spoon, leaving some lumps intact. Place over low heat & gradually
mix in chicken stock or broth, adding just enough to make fluffy texture.
Cut butter into pieces and mix in lightly. Add salt & pepper to taste.
Serve hot.
