Do you hold fast to the Bible when everything in you during a trial screams at you to rely on your own wisdom? Do you believe you will have more joy and peace by following Scripture? Do you believe you live in a “crooked and perverse generation” that by necessity demands you hold fast to God’s Word? Are you standing firm in no way overcome by your trials because you are fully relying on the promises of God?

3/4	c	Brown sugar; packed
1	ts	Baking powder

1/2	ts	Nutmeg
1 1/3	c	Buttermilk
1/2	c	Shortening
3		Eggs

Grease and flour 2 round layer pans, 8 or 9 inch. Measure all ingredients
into large mixer bowl. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl
occasionally. Pour into pans. Bake in preheated 350F oven for 45 minutes or
until wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes and remove
from pans.
