God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists. A baby feels hunger: well, there is such a thing as food. A duckling wants to swim: well, there is such a thing as water…. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. If none of my earthly pleasures satisfy it, that does not prove that the universe is a fraud. Probably, earthly pleasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse it, to suggest the real thing.
It is admitted universally that the payment of tithes or the tenths of possessions for sacred purposes did not find a place within the Christian Church during the age covered by the apostles and their immediate successors (J.R. Willis).
Preheat oven to 375 F. Melt butter over medium heat in a large skillet. Add
the pecans and saute until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Add the brown
sugar and cook until caramelized. Stir in the paprika, chile powder and
cumin. Add the vinegar and cook until all the liquid has evaporated. Season
with salt. Spread the pecans on a cookie sheet and bake in an oven until
crisp, about 3 to 5 minutes. WALT
