INSTRUCTIONS
Heat milk and 2 cups sugar with butter. Cool slightly and add beaten egg.
Melt 1/2 cup sugar in iron skillet slowly until brown and runny. Turn heat
to medium on first mixture; add browned sugar and cook 10 minutes. Remove
from heat; cool slightly and add vanilla. Beat to desired consistency for
spreading over cake, adding a bit of cream if mixture becomes too thick.
