We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

What about those areas in which Christians differ in their convictions as to God’s will? Paul speaks to this question in Romans 14, where he takes up the problem of eating certain food. He lays down three general principles to guide us. The first is that we should not judge those whose convictions are different from ours (verses 1-4). The second principle is that whatever our convictions are, they must be “to the Lord,” that is, developed out of a sense of obedience to Him (verses 5-8). The third principle is that whatever convictions we have developed as “to the Lord,” we must be true to them (verse 23). If we go against our convictions, we are sinning, even though others may have perfect freedom in that particular thing.

Usually we think of methods of intake as falling into four categories – hearing the Word taught by our pastors and teachers (Jeremiah 3:15), reading the Bible ourselves (Deuteronomy 17:19), studying the Scriptures intently (Proverbs 2:1-5), and memorizing key passages (Psalm 119:11). All of these methods are needed for a balanced intake of the Word… [But] we must do more than hear, read, study, or memorize Scripture. We must [also] meditate on it (Joshua 1:8).

Dairy Philadelphia Pies, Usenet 1 Pie

INGREDIENTS

1 Pie shell (graham cracker)
8 oz Cream cheese
1/2 c Sour cream
1/3 c Granulated sugar
1/2 ts Vanilla (or to taste)
4 oz Whipped cream
14 oz Cherry pie filling (1 can)

INSTRUCTIONS

Cream together the cheese and sour cream. Fold in sugar gradually. Add
vanilla and mix well. Fold in whipped cream. Pour into pie shell and chill
for at least 3 hours.
Pour excess syrup from the can of cherry pie filling. Leave some, but you
certainly don't need all of it. The sauce should cover the cream cheese
mix, but the cherries shouldn't be drowning in it. Pour pie filling on top.
Serve cold.
  NOTES:
* A simple cherry cream cheese pie -- My wife makes this for me
periodically, and it is always delicious. No baking is required, and it is
very easy to make. Yield: Makes one pie.
* If you don't have the time to sit around for 3 hours waiting for the pie
to chill, make the cream cheese filling the night before and let the pie
chill overnight.
* We prefer to use non-dairy whipped cream substitute. We usually use the
same brand name ingredients for best results: Philadelphia cream cheese,
Breakstone's sour cream, Cool-whip and Comstock cherry pie filling.
: Difficulty: easy.
: Time: 20 minutes preparation, 3 hours chilling.
: Precision: approximate measurement OK, especially with the vanilla.
