How soon marriage counseling sessions would end if husbands and wives were competing in thoughtful self-denial. If the woman were anxious to yield to her God-given head in the home, and the man were ambitious to serve her comfort and welfare as being his own flesh, there would be no room for contention and strife. “Wives, submit” and “husbands, love” must be repeated until the message reaches beyond ears to the hearts of spouses.
You are not your own; you are a man under orders. And the One who has drafted you and signed your orders expects that you carry them out in a manner worthy of Him, and in such a way that His authority and His kingdom cannot be ignored. Now go, labor, work, and do your duty well knowing that it is the greatest privilege under heaven to be in the personal service of the Almighty.
Day-old Italian bread cubes; (appx 1/2 inch cubes)

Half-and-half cream

(appx 14 0z.) sour or tart cherries; chopped

INSTRUCTIONS
CHERRY SYRUP

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
Place 8 cups of the bread cubes in prepared pan.
In mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar and extract until smooth.
Stir in pecans and cherries (or cranberries). Spoon over bread and top with
remaining bread cubes.
In mixing bowl, whisk eggs, cream, cinnamon and remaining sugar. Pour over
bread.
Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes, or until browned. Let stand 5 minutes
before serving. Top individual servings with Cherry Syrup.
Makes 6 - 8 servings.
Cherry Syrup: Combine cherries, sugar and corn syrup in small saucepan.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat
and stir in extract. Serve warm over strata.
