The laws of God are not simply external statutes, published and passed by some congress in heaven; rather, the laws of God reflect His very character. They are an expression of God Himself. So to break any of God’s laws is to live against God. It is to live contrary to Him.
We can find our firm foundation in a covenant contracted among the three Persons of the Triune God, even before time began. This plan to rescue and re-create damaged and guilty bearers of the divine image was initiated by the Father, to be executed by the Son, and to be applied by the Spirit to those very persons on whose behalf the Son would keep covenant.
This is another method of using one chicken to feed several people. The
dumplings are a wonderfully frugal way to enjoy a full meal.
Prepare the chicken according to Nettie Smith's Chicken and Noodles
recipe (see recipe), omitting the noodles. Instead, cut down on the liquid
in the final pot and drop dumplings (see recipe) on top. Cook according to
the dumpling recipe.
I love a dish of Collard Greens on the side and some of Harriet's
Southern Biscuits (see recipes).
