There is something inexpressibly pleasing to a justified mind to know that God has all the honor in our salvation, and we have none; to know that God’s honor is not violated, but on the contrary, shines more illustrious; to know that God’s law is not injured, but magnified and made honorable; to know that we are safe, and God has all the glory.
It is Christ who is to be exalted, not our feelings. We will know Him by obedience, not by emotions. Our love will be shown by obedience, not by how good we feel about God at a given moment. “And love means following the commands of God.” “Do you love Me?” Jesus asked Peter. “Feed My lambs.” He was not asking, “How do you feel about Me?” for love is not a feeling. He was asking for action.

Saute the chopped vegies (all but zuchini) in about 1/2 cup water until the
onions are translucent. Add everything else and bring to boil. Lower heat
to simmer and add 4 cups of cooked or canned kidney beans. (oops, I forgot
the beans in the ingredient list above) Simmer for about an hour, or
longer. Even better if it sits another day. Freezes well. Good over rice.
