God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
Psalm 139:13-16 paints a vivid picture of God’s intimate involvement with a preborn person. God created David’s “inward parts” not at birth, but before birth. David says to his Creator, “You knitted me together in my mother’s womb” (v. 13). Each person, regardless of his parentage or handicap, has not been manufactured on a cosmic assembly line, but personally formed by God. All the days of his life are planned out by God before any come to be (v. 16).
If Christ is truly God, His claim to be the only way has to be taken seriously. If on the other hand, He is merely one more person in a pantheon of pretenders, His proclamations can easily be pushed aside. That is precisely why the resurrection is axiomatic to Christianity. Through the resurrection, Christ demonstrated that He does not stand in a line of peers with Buddha, Baha'u'llah, Krishna, or any founder of a world religion. They died and are still dead, but Christ is risen. Ultimately, resurrection and reincarnation are mutually exclusive because the former is a historical fact, while the latter is but a Hindu fantasy.
Brown meat, onion & garlic together. Add all other ingredients & simmer,
covered, for 1 hour. Add additional tomato juice or water if you prefer a
'soupier' bowl of chili. For those who like chili con carne con frijoles,
add two 15-oz cans pinto or kidney beans along with the juice from the
beans. Do not doulbe chocolate if you double the recipe. Your guests will
enjoy this chili more if you don't tell them about the chocolate until
after their second helping.
