We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

A particular powerful method to [influence our children] is that family devotions are well taken care of in the home, as reading of God’s Word, fervent prayers, singing of psalms, necessary reprimands, teaching of the catechism, and summarizing sermons. We must take care that our families are little Churches, like those of Priscilla and Aquila, of Cornelius and others, Rom. 16: 5; Acts 10. For by continuous exercise the hearts of the members are influenced to love and obey the Word of the Lord.
Abraham Van De Velde

[Jesus Christ’s] victory, of course, does not mean that we rush off to kill all our enemies. It means instead that we are to love them. Our love for them must be strong enough, however, to tell them with both passion and compassion, that their hopes are in vain, that their gods are mute and dumb, and that there is only one name under heaven by which a man must be saved. Our love for them does not present the Christian Gospel as an option. It does not lead us to argue that it’s a good option that has worked well for us. Our love instead commands all men everywhere to repent and believe the Gospel, lest they perish. Our love calls on all our enemies to kiss the Son, lest He be angry and they perish along the way (Ps. 2:12).

From the cookbook Hot Spots by Dave DeWitt:
Sautee the carrot in oil til tender. Add the shallots, chipotles and wine
and simmer for 1 min. Add the cream, raise the heat, and reduce by half.
Place the mixture in a blender/food processor and puree. Strain the sauce,
season with salt and serve.
This sauce is good with most grilled meats, in or on mashed potatos, and
with grilled chicken.
If you sub chicken stock for some of the cream, then add the stock first,
reduce by half<on high heat> then add the cream, and reduce mixture to 1 or
1
1/4 cups.
