We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

I believe that the Bible is God’s Word. Therefore I must define the ultimate goal of exegesis so as to embrace the heart as well as the head. The Scriptures aim to affect our hearts and change the way we feel about God and his will. The exegete, who believes that this aim is the aim of the living God for our day, cannot be content with merely uncovering what the Scriptures originally meant. He must aim, in his exegesis, to help achieve the ultimate goal of Scripture: its contemporary significance for faith. It is the will of God that his Word crush feelings of arrogance and self-reliance and that it give hope to the poor in spirit.
John Piper

Scripture speaks of both a holiness we already possess in Christ before God and a holiness in which we are to grow more and more. The first is the result of the work of Christ for us; the second is the result of the work of the Holy Spirit in us. The first is perfect and complete and is ours the moment we trust Christ; the second is progressive and incomplete as long as we are in this life. The objective holiness we have in Christ and the subjective holiness produced by the Holy Spirit are both gifts of God’s grace and are both appropriated by faith.

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
Thai 1 Servings

INGREDIENTS

5 Canned chipotles
5 Cloves of garlic
1/2 Onion
2 Limes ; juice of
Generous splash of brandy
Smidge of olive oil
5 Thai chiles

INSTRUCTIONS

Into the blender went: 5 canned chipotles, 5 cloves of garlic, half an
onion, juice of 2 limes, generous splash of brandy and a smidge of olive
oil. Oh yes, also 5 Thai chiles. Whir. Poured on chicken, baked.
Results - garlic was predominant - I would use less. It wasn't hot! Maybe
throw in a hab or maybe I have a weak brand of chipotles. Also I think a
big handful of parsley and cilantro would have been good. Maybe some ancho
chile powder.
Anyway, it was good but could have been much better.
