We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Worship services in many churches today are like a merry-go-round. You drop a token in the collection box; it’s good for a ride. There’s music and lots of motion up and down. The ride is carefully timed and seldom varies in length. Lots of good feelings are generated, and it is the one ride you can be sure will never be the least bit threatening or challenging. But though you spend the whole time feeling as if you’re moving forward, you get off exactly where you got on.

Discipline is not inconsistent with love. It is lack of discipline, in fact, that is inconsistent with love. “Those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges every son whom He receives” (Heb. 12:6). The Lord disciplines His children because He loves them, and we will discipline our brothers and sisters in the Lord if we truly love Him and truly love them.

INGREDIENTS

5 md Bananas; peeled but left whole
1 Heavy whipping cream
1 Excellent-quality bittersweet choco; chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

Line a 4x8-inch loaf pan with plastic wrap. Place bananas in pan to make 2
layers. In a small saucepan, bring cream to a boil; lower heat to medium
and add chocolate, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until melted.
When chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth, pour over
bananas. Tap pan lightly on countertop to distribute chocolate between the
bananas. Allow to cool. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Unmold and remove
plastic wrap. Cut into slices, about 1/2-inch thick. If desired, serve with
a scoop of vanilla ice cream and toasted slivered almonds. Yield: 12-18
servings, depending on portion sizes. Note:This dessert is very rich and I
prefer to serve a half-slice per person with a scoop of ice cream topped
with toasted almonds on the side.
