We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Scripture reveals six noteworthy characteristics of Jesus' healing ministry (in contrast to those who profess miraculous healings today): 1. Jesus healed with a word or a touch… There were no theatrics, no special environment. 2. Jesus healed instantly… People often say, 'I've been healed, and now I'm getting better.' Jesus never did 'progressive' healing. If Jesus had not healed instantly, there would have been no miraculous element sufficient to demonstrate His deity. His critics could easily have said the healing was just a natural process. 3. Jesus healed totally… There was no recuperation period. 4. Jesus healed everyone. Unlike healers today, Jesus did not leave long lines of disappointed people who had to return home in their wheelchairs. He did not leave healing services or programs that ended at a certain time because of airline or television schedules. 5. Jesus healed organic disease. Jesus did not go up and down Palestine healing lower back pain, heart palpitations, headaches, and other invisible ailments. He healed the most obvious kinds of organic disease – crippled legs, withered hands, bind eyes, palsy – all healings that were undeniably miraculous. 6. Jesus raised the dead… People who tout the gift of healing today do not spend much time in funeral parlors, funeral processions, or cemeteries.
John MacArthur

The true Christian is one whose religion is in his heart and life. It is felt by himself in his heart. It is seen by others in his conduct and life. He feels his sinfulness, guilt and badness, and repents. He sees Jesus Christ to be that Divine Savior whom his soul needs, and commits himself to Him. He puts off the old man with his corrupt and carnal habits and puts on the new man. He lives a new and holy life, fighting habitually against the world, the flesh and the devil. Christ Himself is the cornerstone of his Christianity. Ask him in what he trusts for the forgiveness of his many sins, and he will tell you in the death of Christ. Ask him in what righteousness he hopes to stand innocent at the judgment day, and he will tell you it is the righteousness of Christ. Ask him by what pattern he tries to frame his life, and he will tell you that it is the example of Christ. But, beside all this, there is one thing in a true Christian which is eminently peculiar to him. That thing is love to Christ.

INGREDIENTS

1 c Heavy cream
8 oz Semisweet chocolate Chopped coarse
2 tb Orange flavored liqueur
Oranges; halved/sliced thin into half rounds/about 14 slices

INSTRUCTIONS

GANACHE ICING AND ASSEMBLY
FOR CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE
GARNISH
FOR THE GANACHE: In a small saucepan bring the cream just to a simmer.
Remove the pan from the heat, add the chocolate and let the mixture stand,
covered, for 5 minutes. Stir in the liqueur and continue to stir the
ganache until smooth and tepid. Strain through a fine sieve into a small
pitcher or a bowl with a lip.
ASSEMBLY: Cut an 8" cardboard round and put one teaspoon of the mousse in
the center of it, then set one of the cake layers, bottom side up on the
cardboard. Cover the cake with some of the mousse, smoothing it into an
even layer, and top it with the remaining layer, bottom side up. Cover the
top and the sides of the cake with the remaining mousse, smoothing it with
a spatula, and chill the cake until it is cold. Set the cake on a rack over
a jelly roll pan and pour the creme ganache over it, smoothing it with a
spatula to completely cover the top and sides of the cake. Let the cake
stand at room temperature for 10 minutes and scrape any excess chocolate
glaze from the jelly roll pan back into the saucepan. Heat the excess
ganache, stirring, until smooth, cool it to tepid, and pour it over the
cake, smoothing it with a spatula over the top and sides of the cake. Chill
the cake until the glaze is set. Transfer the reserved chocolate mixture to
a pastry bag. Arrange orange slices, rounded sides up on the top of the
cake, so that one end of the slice is toward the center and the other is
toward the edge of the cake. Pipe the chocolate mixture along the base on
each side of the orange slices. Arrange the remaining cream decoratively
around the bottom edge of the cake. Let the cake stand at room temperature
for at least 15 minutes before serving.
