We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

[James 4:3-5] pictures the church as the wife of God. God has made us for Himself and has given Himself to us for our enjoyment. Therefore it is adultery when we try to be “friends” with the world. If we seek from the world the pleasures we should seek in God, we are unfaithful to our marriage vows. And, what’s worse, when we go to our Heavenly Husband and actually pray for the resources with which to commit adultery with the world, it is a very wicked thing. It is as though we should ask our husband for money to hire male prostitutes to provide the pleasure we don’t find in Him!
John Piper

Reformed theologians say that God deems His own glory more important than saving everyone, and that (according to Romans 9) God’s glory is also furthered by the fact that some are not saved. Arminian theologians also say that something else is more important to God than the salvation of all people, namely, the preservation of man’s free will. So in a Reformed system God’s highest value is His own glory, and in an Arminian system God’s highest value is the free will of man (Wayne Grudem and Jeff Purswell).

INGREDIENTS

2 Litres 7-up
1 Magnum champagne
1 qt Lime sherbert
Fruit slices such as oranges; pineapple etc.
2 Litres 7-up
1 qt Good fruity white wine such as a Gewerstraminier
1 1/2 qt Pineapple sherbert

INSTRUCTIONS

VARIATION
Soften the lime sherbert. It should be almost soupy, but not quite. Place
one half of the quart in a large punch bowl. Pour the champagne and the
7-UP at the same time, over the sherbert until the bowl is full. Stir until
mixed, but not vigorously. Add some of the fruit slices for color. This
tastes very creamy and refreshing. You can make it non alcoholic by using
gingerale and 7-UP.
Variation: Proceed as above.
