INGREDIENTS
| 2 1/2 | c | Flour |
| 2 | c | Brown sugar |
| 1/2 | ts | Salt |
| 2/3 | c | Shortening |
| 2 | ts | Baking powder |
| 1/2 | ts | Soda |
| 1/2 | ts | Cinnamon |
| 1/2 | ts | Nutmeg |
| 1 | c | Sour milk |
| 2 | Eggs; (well beaten) | |

INSTRUCTIONS
Blend flour, sugar, salt, and shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Reserve 1/2 cup for topping. Add baking powder and spices; mix well. Add milk and eggs; mix well. Place in 2 cake pans or one 13 x 9-inch pan and sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and chopped nuts on top.
