God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
If the story of the fall reveals our own sin and guilt, it surely also reveals the amazing depths of God’s love and mercy. It was the Son of God who placed a sword at the entrance to the Garden of Eden. He did it not just to keep Adam out. He did it so that, at just the right time, he could walk through in our place, to satisfy God’s just wrath and make a way for us to enter back in, through the gate, to eat from the Tree of Life and live forever in the glorious presence of God.

INGREDIENTS
1
Sheet frozen puff pastry; 12×14 inches
1
Egg white
2
ts
Water
1 1/2
ts
Grated Parmesan cheese
INSTRUCTIONS
Let the frozen puff pastry thaw for about 30 minutes, then lay it on a
floured surface. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a small bowl, mix the
egg white and water. Use a pastry brush to "paint" the mixture onto one
side of the pastry. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and cut the pastry
into strips, 1/2 inch wide and as long as the pastry. Place the strips on
an ungreased cookie sheet and gently twist several times (a good job for
kids). Press the ends onto the cookie sheet so the strips don't unravel.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
