Prayer is yearning to see not my will, but God’s will done. Prayer is about aligning myself with Him. Prayer is about knowing that God has ordained all things – not just the end, but also the means by which it comes about. And it’s about knowing that my prayers are part of those means.
We must begin low, if we would build high, I am convinced that the first step towards attaining a higher standard of holiness is to realize more fully the amazing sinfulness of sin.
These are from The Gold Cook Book.
1. Mix flour, salt and baking powder. Sift.
2. Cut in shortening with 2 knives until the consistency of coarse
cornmeal.
3. Stir in the milk, a little at a time, to make a soft dough.
4. Add nuts and dates.
5. Turn out onto slightly floured board and knead for 1/2 min.
6. Roll to 1/2" thickness.
7. Cut in 2" rounds with floured cutter.
8. Place on an ungreased sheet.
