INGREDIENTS
| 2 | c | Sifted bread flour |
| 1/2 | ts | Salt |
| 3 | ts | Baking powder |
| 1/4 | c | Shortening |
| 3/4 | c | Milk |
| 1/2 | c | Chopped dates |
| 1/2 | c | Chopped nuts |
INSTRUCTIONS
These are from The Gold Cook Book. 1. Mix flour, salt and baking powder. Sift. 2. Cut in shortening with 2 knives until the consistency of coarse cornmeal. 3. Stir in the milk, a little at a time, to make a soft dough. 4. Add nuts and dates. 5. Turn out onto slightly floured board and knead for 1/2 min. 6. Roll to 1/2" thickness. 7.
