We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Demanding sensational proof is not evidence of faith but of doubt. To long for the visible sign, the big miracle, the dramatic proof is nothing but masked unbelief. It is the farthest thing from faith.
John MacArthur

God is our all-sufficient Creator and Provider. In the first of the Ten Commandments He says, “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Ex. 20:3). Yet with addictions, we are revealing the fact that our hearts are bowing down to something we believe God cannot provide. The alcohol and drugs are not the essence of the issue. The problem is a heart that worships other gods. Maybe it’s the god of pleasure or the god of love or the god of acceptance or the god of peace or the god of control. You see, the problem is not outside of us. It’s not ultimately at the liquor store or on the Internet. The problem is within us and the booze and pornography are only satisfiers of deeper idols within our hearts. The problem is not the idolatrous substance. The problem is a passion in our heart that is wrongly satisfied with a false god (Concept adapted from Ed Welch, Addictions, p. 49).

3 c Unbleached white flour;
2 c Cracked wheat flour;
2 pk Yeast;
2 c Water
1 ts Salt;

INSTRUCTIONS

Most rustic types of bread consist of just flour, yeast, water and
salt. I usually vary mine using a cracked wheat and also semolina
flour. It seems to give the bread character. When I was under a
Neurosurgeon, we were talking about sugars in the American diet and
he said in Iran, the bread was made with out any sugars. I don't use
a bread machine either. I bake mine on unglazeed quarry tiles and
throw ice cubes in the bottom when I put the bread in. Gives it a
nice rustic flavor and appearance. Sunday I made Pizza using 3 cups
unbleached white flour and 2 cups cracked wheat flour along with 2
pks yeast, 2 cup water and 1 tsp salt. (no fats-no sugar) Put veggies
on the top, using fresh tomatoes. It made to large rounds. Again the
only fat was the pam on the bottom and Pam on the top plus 1 Tbs.
grating cheese for both pizzas. Worked out to be about 1/2 veggie and
2 bread for 2 slices. Tasted a heck of a lot better than some of the
commercial pizzas.
