We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Whenever a religious movement has tried to rid the world of paganism, it is the true church that has suffered the most. Foxe’s Book of Martyrs records that most of those slaughtered for their faith throughout church history have been put to death by misguided zealots claiming to represent God. The Inquisition was responsible for the deaths of untold numbers of Christians, killed because they held God’s Word as a higher authority than the teachings of church leaders.
John MacArthur

Thousands are deceived into supposing that they have “accepted Christ” as their “personal Saviour,” who have not first received Him as their Lord. The Son of God did not come here to save His people in their sin, but “from their sins” (Matt. 1:21). To he saved from sins, is to be saved from ignoring and despising the authority of God, it is to abandon the course of self-will and self-pleasing, it is to “forsake our way” (Isa. 55:7). It is to surrender to God’s authority, to yield to His dominion, to give ourselves over to be ruled by Him.

My mother, Emily Smith, doesn't even remember where she picked up this
recipe, but she has been making it since I was a child. It is pretty basic
American chili, but you can soup it up with cayenne, Tabasco, more chili
powder, or anything else you can think of.
Brown the beef in the oil, along with the onion, garlic, and chili
powder. When the meat is brown and the onion clear, drain the fat and add
remaining ingredients, including the beans. Simmer for at least 1-1/2 hours
or until all is flavorful and the beans are very tender. This is better the
second day.
NOTE: My mother is convinced that cooking the chili powder with the meat
is much better than simply putting the chili powder into the total mixture.
I am convinced as well!
