Egg yolk for painting the dough |
INSTRUCTIONS
Mix flour, butter & sugar with electric beater until dough resembles grated
cheese. Finish mixing dough with hands until dough forms a compact ball.
Refrigerate 30 minutes. Roll dough out until it is 1/4-inch thick. With
sharp knife square the dough edges & cut the dough into 1-inch squares.
With pastry brush paint the dough with beated egg yolk. Place almonds on
each cookie & dush with confectiner's sugar. Place cookies on ungreased
cookie sheet & bake for 15 minutes at 350. Remove cookies while still hot.
Makes about 36 cookies.
