INGREDIENTS

2 Dry yeast
1/2 c Warm water
4 c Flour
2/3 c Sugar
1 t Salt
3/4 c Butter
1/2 c Milk, scalded cooled
2 Eggs, slightly beaten
2 T Butter, melted
4 c Apples, peeled cored slice
1/4 c Butter, melted
1/4 c Sugar
1/4 t Cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

SWEET DOUGH:  Sprinkle yeast over warm water; stir to dissolve.
Combine flour, sugar, and salt in large mixing bowl.  Cut in butter
until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.  Add combined milk, eggs, and
yeast to dry ingredients; mix well.  Brush with butter.  Cover; chill
overnight.  * *  APFEL KUCHEN:  Bring dough to room temperature.
Divide dough in half; spread into 2 buttered 8" square pans.  Press
apples into dough.  Brush dough with butter.  Sprinkle with combined
sugar and cinnamon.  Cover; let dough rise in warm place until doubled.
Bake in preheated  350°F oven 40-45 minutes or until wooden pick
