Apple Crisp

INGREDIENTS

6 Tart apples
1 c Sugar
1/4 ts Ground cloves
1/2 ts Cinnamon
2 ts Lemon juice
3/4 c Sifted flour
1/8 ts Salt
6 tb Butter
1/4 c Chopped nuts
Whipped cream or ice cream

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel, core and slice apples into a bowl.
Add 1/2 of the sugar, the spices and lemon juice. Mix lightly and
pour into a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole. Blend the remaining
sugar, flour, salt and butter to a crumbly consistency. Add the nuts
and sprinkle over the apple mixture. Bake 45 minutes or until the
apples are tender and the crust is nicely browned. Serve with whipped
cream or ice cream. This recipe yields 6 servings.
