When His people are without strength, without resources, without hope, without human gimmicks – then He loves to stretch forth His hand from heaven. Apple Oatmeal with Flax Seeds

INGREDIENTS

2 Granny Smith or other cooking apples; peeled,cored,
; sliced
3 c Water
1/3 c Brown sugar
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Salt
1/4 ts Nutmeg
1 ts Chopped candied ginger; (optional)
1 1/2 c Old-fashioned rolled oats
2 tb Flax seeds; coarsely ground
1 c Evaporated milk or soy milk

INSTRUCTIONS

In a large pot, combine apples, water, sugar, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg,
and ginger, if using. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring
occasionally. Add oats and flax seeds. Reduce heat to medium-high and
cook, stirring frequently, for 5 to 7 minutes, until thickened. Stir
in milk and serve hot.
