Applesauce Cake

INGREDIENTS

1 3/4 c Flour
1 c Applesauce
1 c Sugar
1 ts Cinnamon
1/2 c Canola oil or other vegetable oil
1 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Walnuts; chopped
1/2 ts Ground cloves
1 lg Egg
1 pn Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Yields -- one 9" square or round cake
Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves together in a
bowl. Add the applesauce and oil and blend well together. Beat at low speed
for 2 minutes. Add the egg and continue beating for 1/2 minute. Stir in the
nuts and pour the batter into a greased 9" round or square pan. Bake at 350
degrees for 45 - 50 minutes or until a toothpick placed in the center comes
out clean.
Remove from pan and allow to cool.
Good served with whipped cream or a dusting of powdered sugar.
