The first and most obvious reason we call (God) “Father” is because that is what He wants to be called. The first person of the Trinity has many names – Almighty One, Creator, Most High, Holy Holy Holy, the Rock, the Great I Am. But when Jesus came to tear away the veil so we could look directly into the heart of God, He revealed God as “Father.” Jesus used the word “Father” more than any other description or name for God. And He taught us to address God in the same way: “Our Father who art in heaven…” “Father” is God’s self-revealed designation.

INGREDIENTS

6	c	Water
2	tb	Soy sauce
2	tb	Chili sauce or ketchup
1	ts	Ground ginger
1/8	ts	Cayenne pepper
2	pk	Ramen instant noodle soup (3 oz. ea.)
2 1/2	c	Chinese cabbage or green cabbage; thinly sliced
3		Carrots; peeled; cut into sli
1	c	Small mushrooms; sliced
1/2	c	Frozen corn kernels
1/2	lb	Cooked round steak; thinly sliced
4		Green onions; thinly sliced
2	ts	Dark sesame oil

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix water, soy sauce, shili sauce, ginger, pepper and one seasoning packet
from the noodles in a large saucepan (reserve other packet for other use).
Bring to a simmer; add cabbage and carrot; cook 5 minutes.  Add mushrooms,
corn and noodles; simmer 3 minutes.  Add beef and green onion.  Heat
through. Stir in sesame oil. Note: cooked, chopped chicken may be used
instead of beef.

“You’re never too old for God”

Some will say we need to add “good works” to Christ’s work to be saved. Others will say since we are saved by God’s grace and because all of our sins are already forgiven in Christ we can live as we wish. So, the first says following God’s law is necessary to be saved. The other says following God’s law is unnecessary once saved. Both are terribly wrong! We are saved by grace alone, but the grace that saves is never alone. God’s grace will always give us the desire and ability to follow God. The greatest evidence that we are recipients of God’s grace will be seen through our obedience – not to get saved or stay saved, but proof that we truly are already saved.
