A thankful heart is one of the primary identifying characteristics of a believer. It stands in stark contrast to pride, selfishness, and worry. And it helps fortify the believer’s trust in the Lord and reliance of His provision, even in the toughest times. No matter how choppy the seas become, a believer’s heart is buoyed by constant praise and gratefulness to the Lord.
With butter, flour, and milk, make a smooth gravy. Remove from heat and add
egg yolks, blend. Stir in asparagus. Beat egg whites until stiff; carefully
fold into mixture. Bake in a greased 2-quart baking dish (straight sided)
in preheated oven 30-40 minutes at 375 degrees, or until puffed and knife
inserted will come out clean. Serve at once. Makes 4 servings. Other
vegetables may be substituted for the asparagus.
