Aunt Lucille Wanderer’s Tamale Pie

INGREDIENTS

1 c Cornmeal
1 c Milk
1 16 oz can whole kernal corn
1 lb Lean ground beef
1 16 oz can of diced tomatoes
2 tb Chili powder
1 ts Salt
1/2 c Melted butter or margarine
2 Eggs–beaten
1 cn Tomato soup
1/4 c Butter or margarine–melted
1 tb Chili powder

INSTRUCTIONS

TAMALE PIE
SAUCE
Tamale Pie Stir ingredients together in the order given above. Pour into
large casserole dish or 9" x 13" pan. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for
approximately 1 hour or until solid, dry and golden brown.
Sauce Blend ingredients together with a wire wisk.
Serve with sauce over top of individual servings.
OPTIONS Can be cooked in a microwave on high for approximately 20 minutes.
One half of mixed Tamale Pie ingredients may be frozen for baking at a
later date.
